The Cause
Most giving is performance, and I put on enough performances.
I’m interested in the work that doesn’t need an audience. Emergency Activation Network, founded by John Long, is building accountable, transparent pathways between donors, corporations, and vetted charitable organizations. Honesty in giving is finally a real option, and I believe it should be the standard.
I believe in this mission enough to have built EAN’s website, social presence, and brand alongside the team. If your organization is looking for an impact that’s worth it’s intention, start here.
My father dedicated his life to serving the people of South Carolina. He was a respected leader who believed that when something truly mattered, you found a way to make it happen.
One day, we were faced with what seemed like an impossible situation. A young Make-A-Wish girl had one wish: to meet a well-known college football player on the field at Furman University. The player had been in Miami the night before, missed the flight home and with time running out, it seemed her wish might not become a reality.
My father immediately called Jody because he was convinced she could get it done.
Within hours, Jody found someone already flying privately from Fort Lauderdale to Greenville and somehow convinced them to bring the player home. She then helped coordinate with local law enforcement to escort him directly from the FBO to Furman University. He arrived just in time, and because of the combined efforts of so many people, that little girl’s wish came true that day.
When people ask me what makes Jody exceptional, I think of my father telling his team, “Call Jody.” He knew she’d find a way, and she did.
